Fine 18th C. Italian Fruitwood Cassettone

The exuberant cassettone or architectural rectangular form raised on geometric tapered legs.  The work uses and array of highly figured matched cross-grain veneers, the top, sides and facade of the piece decorated in colorful geometric marquetry designs.  Of particular note is the use of green tulip wood contrasting with kingwood, elegant applied  escutcheon plates and drawer handles.
