19th C. Portuguese Fisherman Painting by Kemo Rodrigrez

Portuguese Fisherman oil on panel, circa 1860, signed K. Rodrigrez. Kemo Rodrigrez was born Pavia 1825, exhibited Paris 1851, Munich 1853. Noted for clairy of composition and as a fine colorist.

Kemo Rodrigez

Spanish genre and still life painter. Born in Pavia 1825. First education in art at the atelier of Giovanni Rufese, later at the local academy. After he finished his study travels to France, Germany and austral. Already in his younger years he took part at international exhibitions and could achieve favorable critics and various prizes (Paris 1851, Munich 1853. Since 1860 he settled in Madrid and devoted himself entirely to genre-painting. Especially his fine color scheme in which he made his find compositions were very much appreciated. Through his taking part at international exhibitions his name was not only known in Spain.
