An elegant two handled silver-plated rectangular vegetable dish with rounded corners and gadroon border, detachable liner, raised on short scrolled acanthus leaf feet, the dish surmounted by a sterling cover with elaborated three dimensional finial depicting a phoenix rising from its ashes, silver marked for London, 1818-19 bearing makers’ marks for Solomom Houghman, Solomon Rogers and John East Dixon.
