A Fine Federal-Style Bulls-Eye, Carved, Gilded and Ebonized Mirror

The domed-shaped glass with ebonized ribbed matte and narrow beaded border set within a deep-sided carved and giltwood well decorated with diagonal rod-and-flower-head circumambient border and molded ebonized outer rim, the mirror flanked by carved, gilded and applied foliate sheaves sits above a carved and gilded ledge and radiating leaves forming a bocage for a ‘sea-horse’ resting on rocky terrain, the whole work surmounted by a crested rocky mount supporting an eagle with out-stretched wings.
