A delightful late 19th century French ormolu-mounted and lacquered-wood Chinoiserie encrier in the rococo taste, the shaped tray parcel-gilded and painted with centrally placed fo dog and sparse foliage, two vasiform lidded ink-wells (with cone finials) mounted at the back of the tray, the whole raised on a low frame-work of undulating acanthus leaves interspersed with flower-heads. Lacquer cracked in places.
