Edwardian Silver and Silver Gilt Montieth

The monteith in the Armada pattern with repousse floral and scroll decoration on chased ground centering shaped cartouches flanked by cast and applied winged mermaid and merman figures and with chased mask at base, cast lions head and swing bail handles, raised on spreading conforming foot with repousse shell and floral decoration, the undulating rim with interlaced baded border, gilt interior.  The design for this montieth was originally registered by Elkington & Co., Ltd. in 1893.
